Digital Regional Network – Training for the third sector
Year
2025 – 2026
Client
CIFA ETS
Context
CIFA ETS is an NGO with over forty years of experience in children’s rights and development cooperation. It is also a key player in the Digital Regional Network, funded by the Fondo per la Repubblica Digitale. The project began in 2025 to accompany the non-profit field in Piedmont through the digital transformation process, involving hundreds of organizations in training activities, consulting and strategic pathways.
CIFA ETS engaged Forestae to curate part of the training courses that were part of the project, both online and in person. The objective was to strengthen the ability of different organizations to communicate in a more strategic, effective and economically feasible way, with particular attention to digital tools and fundraising. The request was clear: help participants better connect their online messaging with the organization’s vision, its projects and its economic viability.
Process
We started by listening to the questions posed by the organizations: how can they be more recognizable? How can they convey what they do without oversimplifying? How can they build effective campaigns with limited resources? We decided to organize the courses in a practical and accessible way, working on real cases with concrete tools, without taking anything for granted.
Together, we built training courses that transform communication into a strategic lever: a way to strengthen identity, alliances, and the ability to attract resources.
During the meetings, we introduced methods for defining objectives and messages, designing digital campaigns, evaluating which channels to use and effectively using digital tools and artificial intelligence.
All of this was done using simple, open language to foster dialogue. Rather than “transferring content,” we tried to create a space in which to reflect together on what it means to communicate effectively in the non-profit sector today.
In addition to group training, we also made personalized tutoring available for the organizations that requested it. This one-on-one support allows us to take a deep dive into specific needs related to marketing and communication. In some cases, this means clarifying a strategy; in others, it means designing content, campaigns or work tools together. This sort of direct instruction has been a valuable opportunity to turn training content into concrete and viable choices within each organization’s operational context.
Results
As they attend the courses we created, organizations often begin to recognize the importance of continuing to work on their communication with greater awareness. For some, the course is an opportunity to rethink their communication objectives; for others, it is a first step toward launching structured digital campaigns for fundraising or simply promoting their services.
In both cases, what emerges is a greater ability to identify a clear goal as they choose tools, define priorities and ensure coherence between message and identity. Such training helps bring out competencies that are already present within organizations while strengthening the shared digital culture.
Thanks to CIFA ETS’s vision and the collaboration between different organizations, a concrete, useful training experience that respects the timing and contexts of those working in the field every day is now at their fingertips.
