Context
Torino Respira is a citizen-led committee created to promote legal, educational and outreach initiatives aimed at improving air quality in the Turin metropolitan area. The city has historically had high levels of air pollution, and the committee was formed to bring public and political attention to this issue in a constructive and well-informed way.
In turning to Forestae, the committee expressed the need to update the organization’s branding, making it clearer, more recognizable and more coherent.
Torino Respira also sought a more effective online presence, capable of supporting campaigns, informing citizens and hosting content in a clear, simple, and legible way.
Process
Starting from an analysis of the existing visual identity, the group and Forestae jointly decided to keep the long-standing logo, while actively updating the rest of the visual communication package.
We updated the color palette, selected new typefaces and created compositional rules to make the whole system more harmonious.
We designed a family of original illustrations and created graphic templates for social media, making it easier to produce content independently.
At the same time, we designed and developed a new, more accessible and modern website which brings the committee’s different activities together in one place: from legal actions to in-depth articles and participatory campaigns. We also created materials for the urban air quality monitoring campaign, a grassroots initiative open to all that saw the active participation of dozens of associations and citizens.
Results
Today, Torino Respira has a coherent visual identity, clearer communication, and a website that directly supports its day-to-day work.
The committee can now effectively engage with citizens, institutions, and other organizations working on environmental and health issues at every level.
